Customer Testimonial – Drop test at 17mph

Sometimes when our great customers send in their stories about how Rokform has protected their phones, it’s hard to believe that these things actually happened! This next story is no exception. Scott McCallum let us know that he’s pretty pumped on the protection Rokform offers. He even included his Strava data to show his speed at time of “drop test.” Enjoy!

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about the protective qualities of you phone cases when I bought them almost a year ago but I was really interested in the mounting features and really cool designs. I purchased 3 cases one for my wife, one for my dad and one for me. My father has yet to use his case but after my experience he is now considering using it.

My experience, to say the least, was for me a little nerve wracking. I was on my way home from work riding my bike to the train station. I hit a bump in the road which was quite large. I prepared myself as I went over it and navigated it quite well. My phone, unfortunately, did not. I had my phone on my handlebars being held by a flimsy phone holder (NOT a Rokform) that shall go in named. As I hit the bump in the road, my phone flew out of the holder and landed square on a corner as seen in the attached picture.

After the phone hit the pavement it wound up face down and proceeded to slide for many feet. Just before it came to a stop I proceeded across a storm drain. I thought for sure it was a gone for good. By the time I got stopped the phone had made it safely across the storm drain and was sitting in the gutter. Again not knowing what I was going to find when I picked up the phone. I thought for sure I was going to have a shattered screen. Needless to say, everything was fine with the phone. I used it to take the pictures of the case and to write this email. This case did exactly what it should have…protect my phone. I will never use another brand! I now use the mount that it was designed for and have had no issues. The case has broken at the bottom but it had nothing to do with the epic ride test.
