What to expect from Galaxy UNPACKED 2020
“Galaxy UNPACKED”
Samsung has announced that their Unpacked event will be hosted on February 11, 2020 in San Francisco. While no announcements have been confirmed, based on past Samsung events we are safe to assume that this is where they will be announcing a new line of phones.
So what can we expect from the next Galaxy? Keep reading to find out.
What will it be called?
The last phones Samsung launched were the Samsung S10, S10 Plus and Note 10, so the natural progression would be Samsung S11 and S11 Plus. Interestingly, it has been heavily rumored that Samsung will skip ahead to the S20 and S20 Plus.
Cool new features
5G Support?
Something that is going to become more and more common in new smartphones is support for 5G. It is rumored that the new S20 and S20 Plus’s software will automatically work with a 5G network.
A New Display
A new 120Hz display has been heavily leaked due to a S20 Plus unit that has been floating around the world. These new displays will also be larger in size – the S20 is rumored to have a 6.2 inch screen and the S20 is rumored to have a 6.7 inch screen.
New Cameras
Samsung is expected to give an upgrade to the camera’s on both devices. Each device is expected to have three cameras, a main camera, a telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens.
New Colors
The latest we’ve heard is that there will be four colors offered, although not all of the models will be released in all of the colors. The new colors will be; cosmic black, cosmic grey, cloud blue and cloud pink. There have been conflicting rumors about which phones will feature which colors so we may just have to wait and see…
Quick Share
Samsung is rumored to be launching a competitor to Apple’s AirDrop, called Quick Share. It will be interesting to see the list of devices that will be compatible with this update.
