Top Nutrition Apps for 2018

This month, schools, businesses, and consumers around the United States are celebrating nutrition month. March has been designated as nutrition month since 1980, when it was extended from one week to a full, dedicated month after Americans' interest in nutrition grew.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most Americans do not consume enough fruits and vegetables: “In 2015, only 12% of adults ate enough fruit and 9% ate enough vegetables. In 2013, 9% of adolescents ate enough fruit and 2% ate enough vegetables.”

This year’s nutrition theme is “Go Further with Food.” We know eating healthy can be difficult. To help you go further with food, we’ve highlighted a few helpful phone apps.

MyFitnessPal

There are lots of nutrition apps out there that have calorie counting as one component of fitness tracking. With nutrition facts for over two million foods, MyFitnessPal boasts the largest food database to help you count calories easily and accurately. The app even lets you import recipes to get a full nutritional breakdown of the meals you cook at home. With over 2 million reviews and a 4.6+ average rating, MyFitnessPal is an app that’s already helped millions of people get closer to achieving their nutrition goals.
