Unboxing and Setup

Will the case work with MagSafe® accessories?

Yes. The Rugged and Crystal cases feature our MAGMAX™ magnet array, which works with all Rokform wireless chargers. Compatibility with third-party MagSafe® chargers may vary. While we can’t guarantee performance with every Qi charger or vehicle setup, we do guarantee full compatibility with all Rokform wireless chargers.

What’s the difference between the Rugged and the Crystal case?

Protection is identical—both cases feature reinforced corners, raised bezels, and excellent drop protection. The only difference is design: Rugged – All black with a carbon fiber-style texture for a tactical look. Crystal – Clear polycarbonate back to showcase your iPhone’s color.

What colors are available?

Rugged Case: Matte black. Crystal Case: Clear, allowing your iPhone’s finish to shine through.

Is the case waterproof?

No. The case does not make your phone waterproof. However, most iPhones (including iPhone 17) are water-resistant.

Will the magnets affect my phone?

No. Rokform pioneered magnetic phone case technology in 2011, and our magnets are proven safe for all smartphones, tablets, and credit cards. The only exception: the center magnet blocks wireless charging, so remove it when charging with MagSafe® or Qi chargers. ⚠️ Keep loose magnets away from children and magnet-sensitive devices (like pacemakers, hotel keys, or hard drives).

How easy is the case to remove?

Very easy. Both Rugged and Crystal cases are designed for quick installation and removal—just seconds to swap.

What is the purpose of the magnet?

Convenience. The magnets securely attach your iPhone to magnetic surfaces and Rokform mounts. Customers use them on fridges, toolboxes, golf carts, car mounts, forklifts, police vehicles, fire trucks, and more. If you don’t love it, you’re covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee.

Does the magnet affect phone signal, GPS, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth?

No. Your signal and connectivity remain unaffected.

Does the case work with tempered glass screen protectors?

Yes. Rokform’s RokGlass screen protectors (and most others) fit perfectly with our cases.

What materials are used?

Polycarbonate (PC): Strong, impact-resistant plastic also used in helmets and riot gear. TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane): Semi-soft, shock-absorbing rubber for drop protection and grip. Rokform uses 85D TPU for optimal strength and feel.

Is the iPhone 17 Pro Max case pocket-friendly?

Yes. The TPU grip balances comfort without attracting lint or sticking in pockets.

What is the RokLock® twist lock?

A patented mount system for secure attachment to cars, bikes, motorcycles, boats, golf carts, and more.

Does the case come with a lanyard?

Each case includes a lanyard slot (lanyards sold separately).

What if I don’t like it?

No problem—we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee and a 2-year warranty.

Is the Rugged case scratch-resistant?

Yes. The Rugged’s carbon fiber texture resists scratches. The Crystal case is polished polycarbonate, which may scratch, but TPU edges help minimize contact.

Is this a good case for work?

Yes. From construction to law enforcement to office use, Rokform cases are built for professional durability and everyday convenience.

Where is the case made?

Designed and tested in Irvine, California, manufactured in China.

How long will the case last?

Most customers keep their case as long as they keep their phone. Our 2-year warranty covers any issues.

Will the case work with non-Rokform magnetic mounts?

Performance may vary. Rokform cases use magnets oriented specifically for Rokform mounts. For best results, use Rokform magnetic mounts.

How strong are the magnets?

Lower magnet (6.1" & 6.7" cases): ~9.88 lbs. pull strength. Center magnet (all sizes): ~6.3 lbs. pull strength. We use only N52 Neodymium magnets—the strongest available.

Does it come with a screen protector?

No, but Rokform tempered glass screen protectors are available separately.

Are belt clips and holsters available?

We’re excited to share that a new version is currently in the works and scheduled to launch in 2026!

Is the phone slippery with this case?

No. The TPU and ergonomic design provide a secure grip.

Do the speakers and buttons work well?

Yes. Oversized ports ensure full sound, and button cutouts make pressing effortless.

Does the case show fingerprints?

Rugged: No fingerprints. Crystal: Minimal fingerprints, thanks to recessed PC design.

Does the case hinder swiping or gestures?

No. The protective lip never interferes with swipe-up or edge gestures.

How much drop protection does it offer?

Up to 6 feet at any angle—proven in real-world conditions by thousands of customers.

Is the case bulky?

No. It’s slim enough for pockets and purses, yet rugged enough for serious protection.

Does the case protect the camera?

Yes. Raised edges provide 2.5mm of protection around the lenses.

Does the case wobble on flat surfaces?

No. Both Rugged and Crystal cases lay flat for typing and swiping.

What is the warranty?

2-Year Warranty 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee Backed by Rokform’s 5-Star Customer Service team in Orange County, CA.

FAQ

How does the Rokform Rugged iPhone 17 Case Compare to Others on the Market?

Our previous iPhone Rugged Series from Rokform received 4.9 stars out of over 6,600 reviews. Top mentions include high quality, mounting options, a perfect fit, sleek design, magnet strength, and customer service praises. We're proud to offer our Rugged iPhone 17 Case with the same attention to quality and features you expect from Rokform.

What is your iPhone 17 rugged case made of?

Only the best Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and Polycarbonate materials. TPU adds flexibility, durability, a lightweight hold and good grip. Polycarbonate is for the toughness and more durability. We've taken these two premium materials and designed our heavy duty iPhone 17 case with easy press buttons, ergonomic grip, and extra corner protection.

How does this case match up with MagSafe® accessories?

MagSafe® compatibility was a priority when designing our iPhone 17 rugged case - we tested our new case thoroughly with Rokform and MagSafe® products with success. Results may vary with other 3rd party accessories.

What about water damage?

Rain, mist, a little dampness, spills, and splashes shouldn't damage your phone when it's equipped with our Rugged iPhone 17 case. It's not waterproof though - and neither is your phone, so be careful when around the pool!

What does Rokform's warranty look like?

We're proud to stand behind our Rokform Rugged iPhone 17 case with a 60 day money-back guarantee and 2 year manufacturer warranty. It's our meticulous design, build, and testing processes that give us the confidence to stand behind all our products!

How do I clean my iPhone 17 rugged case?

Use a damp cloth and mild soap only. No need for harsh chemicals or a deep scrub - gently wipe your case and then dry completely before re-installing.

Do I still need a screen protector with the reinforced corner and screen edges?

Yes - your screen is not indestructible nor unreachable. Drops happen and if your case falls screen first on anything that could puncture it - you'll need to cash in on that Apple warranty (if you opted in!). Better safe than sorry, a screen protector is an easy way to protect your phone on all sides.

GREAT CASES!!!!

"I have now been with this brand since 2016 iPhone7, now I carry iPhone 17 pro max an have the rugged case. I swear by this brand. The fit is awesome the carbo fiber looks great and the magnetic case well it’s well worth it . I like it so much so that I have my uncle he has purchased a rugged case and my cousin did the same, as mechanicing can be challenging it helps whether you’re under the car or above under the hood. it has been a real life saver..I have recently had a stroke and this rugged case has helped out a bunch with one arm, and then holding the phone with the magnet helps out tremendously"

Excellent case – strong, secure and perfect for accessories

"I bought the Rokform Magnetic Rugged Case for my Samsung Galaxy S24 and I’m very happy with it. The case feels extremely solid and protective, while still fitting the phone perfectly. The magnetic system is very strong and works especially well with my magnetic accessories. I also use my phone for digiscoping with a Swarovski binocular and a magnetic adapter, and the Rokform case keeps everything secure and properly aligned. The buttons are easy to use, the grip is excellent, and the overall build quality feels premium. Definitely one of the best cases I’ve had for my Samsung Galaxy S24. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

— Michael S. (5/5)

Nice Case but…

"I got this case and it is great, but I also bought the lens protector for the camera lens and it’s made of cheap plastic lens that cracks when it’s in your pocket. I never droppedy phone and the case itself is in perfect condition but the lens protector is weak."

— Art P. (4/5)

Best case I've purchased

"The magnetic fearure in this case is probably the best I've come across. Strong, holds my phone firmly in place and the case is solidly built. I'm normally a cheap phone case guy but after seeing my son's case I decided it was worthit ti get one. No regrets and this is probably the only case I'll buy for my phones from now on. Shipping was quick and cost was fair, boxed nicely and easy to install. Thanks for a great product!"

— Stafford U. (5/5)

Great experience, quality I was

"Great experience, quality I was happy to use with my motorcycle for convenience, safety, and it looks excellent."

— Lee B. (5/5)

What I was hoping for!

"I bought a quad lock case and mount for my last phone but didn’t like how the mount functioned, and it was too loose. Rokform has the quarter turn with a positive stop so you know you are “clicked” into place, which is what I was hoping for. It works much better on my wheelchair phone mount with my lack of hand function. Also the case still looks cool, also love the magnetic charger/stand for nighttime use"

— Josh R. (5/5)

I am very rough with

"I am very rough with my phone, I run through screen protectors and have broken many cameras lenses, this case is built in a manner that would make it very difficult to break, the lip that protects the edges of the phone are massive this is not 5 below case this is highly engineered for a person like me, does add a good bit of weight but bothers me none."

— Kay W. (5/5)

Simply the best

"This will be my third rugged case for my iPhones. All I can say is that these cases take a beating and my phone is still intact. I work around horses, tractors and construction and wherever it lands I can be sure that when I pick it up, it’s unscathed. I wish I could join the Rokform team just to take a bit of the great credit they have earned. Thanks for providing us a superb product."

— Trev (5/5)

Love these cases

"Is the third or fourth case I got. Every time I get a new phone I buy the case from Rockford. They are amazing. I love the magnetic back and I own also a bracket for my bike from this brand so I can always lock my phone on it and not worry snout it falling."

— Mariana E. (5/5)

Solid case

"The case seems very solid. Having the magnet to use for charging and to stick the phone to metal is nice. Case looks nice too. I haven't had any issues, but it might be nice if the case had a little more of a rubber feel as the plastic isn't as sticky as my previous case."
